o New Building for Utah Museum of Natural History . The links contains information on the impact on the trails near the building site. In summary:

"Trail use and access will be maintained throughout construction and after construction. If temporary construction-related disruptions to use of the existing trail alignment are necessary, temporary realignments may be installed to assure continued trail use through the site. Every effort will be made to minimize disruption to trail use while assuring public safety. "

"The Bonneville Shoreline Trail and trail access are factors in Museum site planning and EIS alternatives analysis. The Bonneville Shoreline Trail will continue to be integral to this site. EIS alternatives may consider minor permanent trail realignments. Any such approaches will be subject to public review and comment on the Draft EIS."

Rob's Writings

This report from 1992 summarizes the state of cycling facilities on the University of Utah. It also contains a list of recommendations for enhancements to the campus. This was very much a team effort of the University of Utah Bicycle Advisory Committee, which was in place at the time and for a few years after. I was fortunate enough to be chair of the committee.

These are links to articles I have written for Cycling Utah (and thanks to the folks at CU for making them available).

Bikes and Transit

Cycling and mass transit should be natural allies with shared goals--to reduce the use of automobiles, especially those with only a single occupant. Here are some links to information and sites describing good solutions for some of the technical options to mix bikes and transit effectively.
